Jim’s Mistake

Jim’s Mistake

Jim lives in Cleveland, Ohio and has 22 years in IT experience. He has been managing a development team in Pune for 2.5 years and they have been writing the same type of software for him since the beginning. The team is proficient in writing this particular program and know it “inside out”. Yesterday Jim made a mistake in the program, but the development team in Pune did not bring up his error. Jim discovered the mistake himself and corrected it but was surprised that they didn’t catch it. He is confused. They seem to be experts in this area yet didn’t catch this.

1.What is Jim thinking about the team in Pune?
2.Why might the team in Pune not bring up Jim’s error?
3.What (if anything) should Jim do at this point? What (if anything) should the team in Pune do?
