David Peace David founded Shanti Consulting in the US and then Shanti Path Consultants Pvt. Ltd. in India. Motivated by a deep interest in the culture and history of India, he has developed understanding and ability to guide teams to improve effectiveness in India-Global partnerships. He stays current and relates knowledge to real situations. He has given lectures, taught classes, and led small group discussions during 18 years of cross-cultural professional experience in multi-ethnic settings in New York City. His in-depth training is based upon a solid foundation of personal experience, a Masters degree with a cross-cultural emphasis, and training from the Inter-cultural Communication Institute in Portland, Oregon. Stephen Arnold Stephen Arnold, an able trainer/teacher and communicator in both group and one-on-one settings joined Shanti Consulting in July 2007 as the Business and Leadership Developer. Stephen moved to India in 2001 with his family to direct The East West Language Institute in Delhi. As Director of East West Language Institute, Stephen managed Indian staff on a day to day basis giving him insight into Indian work habits and cultural patterns. East West Language Institute served as a resource for Expatriate personnel to learn Indian Languages and make cultural adjustments for life and work in India. In addition to his training in Cross-cultural Anthropology and Communication Stephen recently completed a Certificate in Business and Leadership Development. His practical experience in office and business settings enables him to understand the challenges and demands of this environment. Benjamin Bowling Benjamin finds creative solutions to global communication challenges and assists business professionals in developing their cultural intelligence. He has a B.A. in Business and Organizational Communication from the University of Akron, a Global M.B.A. from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a range of internal consulting experience including Fortune 50, NGO, and small enterprise. Benjamin’s areas of specialization include cross-cultural communication, change management, team dynamics, and business communication. Benjamin has intercultural experience in over 15 countries and has lived in Delhi since 2008. Cindy Peace Cindy’s area of focus is on the practical and relational issues of settling successfully into a new culture. Her cross-cultural journey began at the age of 4 when her parents chose a 3-year posting in Taiwan. During college she had an opportunity to travel to South America and Europe while working with an educational organization. Her first job after receiving bachelors in Intercultural Studies was with International Students in NYC and since then she has continued to grow in cultural understanding and her ability to explain cultural adjustment to others. Jayant Shukla Jayant is a qualified Human Resource Development professional with a commercial background. He has lived and worked in the US, London, Hong Kong, Singapore and now Gurgaon, India. Jayant has hands on practical experience managing cross-cultural teams as Director in Standard Chartered Bank Group and a Partner in the international accounting firm of Spicer and Oppenheim. Through his firm JointForce, he specializes in Key Executive and Team Coaching, Culture Change and Organisation Development, Introduction to North India Workforce amongst others. T.J. Smith T.J. first experienced India in 2001 as a part of his Masters degree with an emphasis in Near-Eastern Studies, and he knew he would return to work in India someday. Graduating with honours, he then joined Medtronic, the global leader in medical equipment, as a Training Specialist for customer service and all new-hire employees. While training, he also became involved in Lean Six Sigma as a Green Belt. He enjoys training, communication theory, and the complexities of corporate culture. Over the last 2 years, he and his wife have learned Hindi while living in North India. Randall Livingston Randall is from the United States and has an indepth understanding of Indian culture having studied and worked here. His wife is Indian and they have settled in Delhi. He has Master's degrees in Sociology and in International and Comparative Education (TESOL focus) and for a number of years has trained in call centers in both culture and voice. For the past 4 years he has worked in Japan and is effective in training for Japan-India specific orientation as well as culture, communication skills, and accent neutralization. Robin Weekes Robin is a Leadership Development Consultant and for Shanti steps in as our UK specialist. Originally from Edinburg, he gained Masters degrees from both Cambridge and Oxford Universities, and for the last three years has been based in Delhi. He has been warmly received by both students and teams as he has shared his culture with them. Tony White Tony is an Aussie happily living in Delhi. He is a registered accountant and has experience in the areas of hotel management, franchising, property investment, and financial services. His understanding of international best practice in management, his negotiation skills, and effective communication skills make him an excellent team member for the areas of business management and Australia specific cultural training. Tatyana Maksymenko Tatyana represents Shanti as our Russian block specialist. She is from Ukraine and graduated with honors in Applied Psychology from National Pedagogical University in Kiev. She has lived in Delhi for 6 years and has a good understanding of Russian and Indian cultures and of cultural issues affecting organizations.
